ABOUT ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT

The Health Department is responsible for effective implementation of national and regional health policies. At the District level, the Department monitors and evaluates services and provides appropriate community programmatic services.

MAJOR ACIVITIES

  1. 1. Ensures effective implementation of public health services
  2. 2. Administers logistics for the supply of immunizations.
  3. 3. Advises the District on health issues and the construction of new health and latrine facilities.
  4. 4. Advises on the licensing and regulation of provision of medical care services by the private sector
  5. 5. Conducts educational awareness campaigns and engages in educational programming activities related to health and nutrition.
  6. 6. Advises community members on health issues.
